Awaken our future leaders.

Indigenous youth are the future stewards of the land. As the next generation, youth will one day carry the knowledge and responsibility for protecting the lands and waters that make our homes.

We call on all peoples to make meaningful places and processes that nourish and animate Indigenous youth.

Inter-generational Youth and Elder camps

We support Indigenous youth as contributors to the conversation and decision making. One of the ways the collective works to enable future water leaders is by bringing together youth and elders on the land. Together we can reclaim traditional knowledge of our sacred water. Learning on the land with elders in ceremony is vital to keeping our knowledge and creating an Indigenous future.

We have been told that this learning must be continuous throughout the year. Youth exposed to repeated teachings and ceremonies, begin to build a better sense of themselves and their identity. With time youth can begin to trust their vision, take on the responsibilities to the land, and begin carry this knowledge for the generations that follow.

Along with annual land based learning camp, the collective actively looking for new ways to support youth building cultural competency, protecting our sacred water, and filling leadership roles.
